Video Player Redesign - Hulu, Web Platform

Overview

As the design lead on this project, and primary Web designer for the Watch team at Hulu, I assisted in all aspects of getting this redesign launched to the site. The responsibilities of this project were transferred over to me from a Senior Designer which is why my contributions focus mainly on the wrap-up rather than the definition, research, and explorations.

Specifically, I stepped in to finalize all aspects of interaction design, visual design, user flows, component styling, messaging, ad scenarios, and more. In partnership with the Design Systems team, I ensured that the iconography, colors, assets, and type styling aligned to the updated Web component library. I produced detailed documentation for both SVOD and Live playback. I collaborated with the Web team’s accessibility champions and third-party group, Level Access, to craft text-to-speech guidelines.

I worked closely with Product, Tech, TPM, QA, Design Systems, and Accessibility. As the point person for all things related to the Web player interface, I continue to manage fixes and updates that need to be made to the designs and specs.
